Beamline co-leads Granarium Technologies’ €1M+ pre-seed round
We are proud to support Granarium Technologies, a deeptech energy startup developing a new generation of renewable supercapacitors for grid stabilisation and industrial energy systems.
Granarium has raised over €1M in pre-seed funding. The round was led by Beamline and BSV Ventures, with participation from FiBAN, EstBAN, and LatBAN.

The original announcement was published by EstVCA — the Estonian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.

Granarium is building technology that addresses one of the major challenges of electrification: how to make power systems more stable, resilient, and locally scalable as renewable energy and industrial electricity demand continue to grow.

As Europe’s grids face increasing pressure from electrification, renewable integration, and stricter resilience requirements, the need for fast-response energy storage is becoming critical. Granarium’s solution is designed to support grid balancing, frequency response, power quality, and peak load management — all without relying on complex global supply chains or scarce critical raw materials.

The company’s technology uses upcycled waste materials to create renewable supercapacitors. According to Granarium, its approach can help reduce production capital expenditure by up to 80%, while enabling local, scalable, and more sustainable manufacturing.

Granarium is now preparing to launch its first pilots within six months of the funding round. The company has already secured pilot customers and key value chain partners. Initial commercial production is planned at a small industrial scale, with capacity to deliver up to 50 units per year, creating the foundation for further scale-up through industrial partnerships and international market expansion.

For Beamline, this investment reflects exactly the kind of deeptech company we want to help build: ambitious, technically strong, climate-relevant, and rooted in the region’s industrial and scientific capabilities.

We are especially excited by Granarium’s potential to contribute to Europe’s strategic goals: reducing dependence on critical raw materials, strengthening local energy infrastructure, and supporting the transition to more resilient renewable power systems.

Congratulations to Paula Viinamäki and the Granarium Technologies team. We are happy to be part of this journey and look forward to supporting the company as it moves from technology development toward pilots, industrial deployment, and international growth.
